WMU Football Picked To Finish 2nd in MAC West Preseason Poll

DETROIT -- The Western Michigan Broncos were selected to finish 2nd in the Mid-American Conference's West Division Friday morning at MAC Media Day at Ford Field in Detroit.

The Broncos finished 2nd in the MAC West with 126 points behind the Central Michigan Chippewas who finished with 154 total points by the 26 member media delegation.

“We know the work we have to do to compete and be successful in this conference,” commented head coach Bill Cubit. “Year in and year out, there seems to be more and more teams creeping up towards the top of their respective divisions and margin for error week in and week out continues to grow smaller and smaller. I look forward to a very exciting 2009 season.”
